Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME universal extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are famous by. Initially, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to register john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domain names remained online.

Through our company, you can get your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer code from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no special conditions on who can grab a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.

The dot NAME generic top-level domain is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no added cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the exact spelling in your local language.
