Every single registered domain has at least two Name Server records that show where it's hosted i.e. by using these records you point your domain name to the servers of a certain hosting provider. That way, you have got both your website and your emails handled by the same provider. On the lower level of the Domain Name System (DNS), on the other hand, there is a variety of other records, like A and MX. The former reveals which server deals with the website for a given domain address and is always an IP address (123.123.123.123), while the second one reveals which server deals with the e-mails and is always an alphanumeric string (mx1.domain.com). For example, whenever you enter a domain address in your web browser, your request is sent through the global DNS system to the company whose NS records the domain address uses and from there you could be sent to the servers of a different provider provided you have set an IP address of the latter as an A record for your Internet domain. Having different records for the site and the e-mails means that you can have your website and your e-mails with 2 different providers if you'd like.

Custom MX and A Records in Cloud Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, that comes with each and every cloud hosting that we offer, allows you to view, modify and create A and MX records for every domain or subdomain inside your account. Through the DNS Records section, you are going to be able to see a list of all hosts inside the account from a to z with their corresponding records, so any update is not going to take you more than a few clicks. Creating new records is as easy if, for instance, you want to use the e-mail services of another company and they ask you to create more MX records than the default two. You can even set the priority for every single MX record by setting different latency. In other words, when your emails are delivered, the sending server is going to contact the record with the smallest latency first and if the connection times out, it will contact the next one. Using our sophisticated tool, you'll be able to handle the records of your domain addresses and subdomains with ease even though you may have no prior experience with such matters.

Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Accessing and modifying the A or MX records for any one of your domain addresses or subdomains is really easy if you purchase a semi-dedicated server plan from us. The accounts are maintained using our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel, which features a section committed to the DNS records of your domain addresses. The latter will be listed alphabetically and you may click on any one of them to see both the A and the MX records. Modifying any record is as easy as entering the new one in a text box and saving the change, so even though you may have never dealt with such matters before, you won't experience any problems if you want to switch your site or e-mails to a different service provider while keeping the second service with our company. When necessary, you can also set up additional MX records and set a specific priority depending on the recommendations of the new provider.
